M16 Binx® Nuts - Grade 5 Steel Zinc Plated Binx Nuts are all metal reusable self -locking nuts, also known as prevailing torque nuts or stiff nuts. The two slits at the head of the nut, distort both the screws effective diameter and pitch of the threads thereby creating torque as the nut is tightened. This action locks the nut in place and prevents the nut from loosening due to vibrations. As the Binx locking mechanism is incorporated into the head of the nut, the height is no greater than that of a standard nut , making it ideal for use in restricted places without any need for lengthy bolts. These Binx Nuts are made from Bright Zinc Plated Steel which provides a level of corrosion and oxidation resistance as well as a bright finish.
